Obedience
Parenting also has disciplines and knowledge that we must adhere to in order to have children who are honoring to the authority of their parents. Children learn the importance of submitting to the authority of those who are over them in employment or government by learning to submit to the authority of their own parents. For children to have success in life, they must be obedient and must listen to the direction God wants them to go. Each person is unique and God has a plan for everyone on this Earth. We must obey God.
Prayer
Prayer is essential to invoking God’s help through all the challenges we experience in life. With prayer, we acknowledge that God is walking with us through all our personal and family trials. He is the deliverer. Our friends are not, our boss is not, and our families are not. Only God can deliver us from the oppression of the enemy. This is evidenced by the fact that couples who pray together are more likely to stay married.
Worship
Praise and worship of God should be central to our lives. The Israelites never entered the promise land because they were constantly complaining. When we worship God, we acknowledge His sovereignty over our lives. That includes all the struggles we have with our children, our spouse, our own lives and our parents.
Purpose
Identifying God’s purpose for your life will help you get all the rest of your life in focus. These verses speak to the ways in which God has a purpose for our lives.
- Prov. 16:3 Commit to the Lord Whatever you do and your plans will succeed.
- Col 3:23 Work at it with all your heart, as working the Lord not for men.
- Rom. 8:28 God works all things for good in the lives of those who love him.
Scripture
- Prov. 16:3 Commit to the Lord Whatever you do and your plans will succeed.
- Col 3:23 Work at it with all your heart, as working the Lord not for men.
- Rom. 8:28 God works all things for good in the lives of those who love him.
Scripture is the foundation to all the knowledge we need for maintaining healthy relationships with God, our family our neighbor and ourselves.
