About Life’s Work – Career
Even though our nation is considered free, many people find themselves in bondage with their work. They believe they live in slavery, toiling for a paycheck and surviving week-to-week. Some take no joy whatsoever in their daily work activities.
In a recent study of employee engagement, 80% of respondents indicated they feel unfulfilled in their work. Many claimed that as soon as the economy improves and more jobs become available, they plan to leave their current employer and find another position.
Why are these employees unfulfilled? Why do they spend their days miserable and feeling no sense of satisfaction or fulfillment? Because fulfillment can only come to those who are in the will of their Heavenly Father.
God called each of us for a purpose.
Each of us has been blessed with our own unique gifts and talents. When we use those talents wisely, and we obediently follow the Lord’s plan for us, we find our sense of purpose: to serve God or to serve God by serving others.
We experience a freedom of watching God orchestrate every step of our lives. The trust we have in Him brings confidence in the steps we take. There lies the road to success.
Work as if working for the Lord, not for man.
Colossians 3:23
