We all need accountability and Godly counsel. By including others in the vision, we keep a righteous focus. Proverbs 15:22 says, “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.” Not everyone is a vision caster, but everyone can embrace a vision. The scriptures say, “Without a vision the people perish.” At this stage ask God to send you righteous people who can embrace your vision through prayer and support emotionally, physically or financially. They can also be instrumental in providing accountability. Many advisers will give you discernment and wisdom.

Balanced Living

We must be diligent in our quest to gain and improve our skills by being disciplined to carry out what may not even be expected by those who are in authority over us. Constantly seek advisers who can help improve performance. The quest to improve performance, however, must be a balanced approach to living. Too much, in the way of diligence can lead to burnout and resentment.

Develop New Skills

Sometimes a career is manifested in the form of entrepreneurship or ministry. There are few periods in the history of man where the majority of people were not entrepreneurs. With entrepreneurship comes the need for responsible accounting and management of labor, as well as the understanding of making the product or performing the service, an understanding of logistics, and the ability to market the products or services. Perhaps entrepreneurs have a more diversified need for multiple skills for them to be successful. The entrepreneur does not have to perform all of the necessary duties, but must have an understanding of the tasks to be performed.

The industry practices need to be adhered to, but we have to remember our standard must be higher than man’s standard. A career is a lifelong learning experience where we constantly seek to perfect our skills.

Our obedience to His precepts assist us in maintaining our ethics and character as we walk in righteousness before God. As we walk in righteousness before God, we can put forth a strong witness to coworkers because of our true commitment to humility, contentment, honesty, and respect.
